I got an email about this site today and decided to check it out. It is pretty cool. A place where I can talk about CAD, share my work, and look for jobs seems alright to me.
I've never done any "at home" CAD work, but I would love to get in to it. A little extra money never hurt. I currently work as a CAD specialist in a pattern shop. I think I'm only there because they need a lot of 2D CAD work done and nobody else knows AutoCAD like I do. It makes the days drag on waiting for work to do, but it gave me the chance to teach myself Pro/E which is a fun (albeit frustrating sometimes) program to use.
I love working with 3D in AutoCAD (or Pro/E) but rarely find myself "inspired" enough to just sit and draw. I have some things posted in my portfolio if anyone wants a look. And if you know of anyone that needs something drawn in 3D, let me know.
From your post I understand that you are profficient in AutoCAD and Pro/E. Would you be interested in becoming a forum moderator in the section of AutoCAD?
I just looked at your post : if you need tips working with Pro/E you can drop me a line maybe I could help you out. I have been working with Pro/E for 15 years so I know a thing or two about it....
That would be great parallaxe. I'm usually pretty good about tracking down what I need on the internet, but there are some things it seems no one knows how to do and I just have to wing it. We have a guy here that is pretty good with Pro/E, but he splits his time between the IT Department and the CAD Department so it's hard to tie him down for some answers.
I will let you know if I ever need anything, thanks!
