Finding Cad jobs 7 Months, 1 Week ago Karma: 0
I've been looking for awhile and seem not to be able to find any jobs to do. I was wondering what is normal rate. Do you do it by the hour or by the job? I would like some more info you have it.

Thanks

Hi,
well I personally do it per project, I discuss the project details with the client, then propose a price for the job and if the client agrees, then, I ask the client for a pre payment of 50% of the job (I do this either via paypal, world pay or 2checkout). I then start working on the project and after the project is completed and the client is satisfied, I issue another invoice for the other 50%.
I have regular clients, but I believe that places like cadlore.com are great opportunities to start finding some work. The site is new but with great potential and I believe that there will be many job offers presented here. I have talked with the sales department of the site, and the answer I got was that they have implemented some new marketing strategy that will bring many new clients to the site.
We will wait and see.

best regards,

Let's make this forum a great place for CAD talk.

Brad,
I am starting my own business doing the same thing. How do I find clientel for my business. I am not trying to compete or any thing like that. I am currently a M.E.P. CAD manager and want to make some extra on the side. I have a website, but how do you find clientel that wants to use you? Any iformation in this area would much be appreciated and if you ever get more work than you can handle, you can always use me as a back up. I just registered on this CADLore.com site and I am trying to find out the best way to obtain clients and advertise my services.

Thank you.

Shane

Hello,
Well, I have found most of my clients from the Internet. I used to contact different firms, construction, architectural, etc via emails and offer my services. However, I think that sites like this one are very useful, especially when their support and marketing are good. So, I would recommend to keep an eye on what's going on at CADLore and take advantage by creating a good profile and offering your services. I personally plan to place an ad here, but I still cannot find more info about it. I have contacted the support team of CADLore.com and awaiting some news. I will post back as soon as I have some news.

Best regards,
Brad

Hi again.
Thanks for your help. I am not sure how many clients will respond, but I will give it a try. I would think that working in a M.E.P. Engineering firm, I would have a lot of contacts. Do you require sales tax in job offers? If I am going to do this, I want to do it right. I am very quick and good at what I do and I just think that there is more to be made then just what I can manage at work. I manage a small production group there for the firm. So I know the architectural aspect of the job as well as what we do in 2-D drawings. Any way, I have not found yet how to post services using CADlore yet, (even though I tried. It would not let me pick what kind of service, 2-D, or 3-D or DataCAD, or what else). Any way, it's good to hear from you and the best of luck with your business.
